For developing countries, and especially the Least Developed Countries, PhD scientists help build a foundation for scientific strength and human prosperity. TWAS offers more than 470 PhD fellowships a year at some of the most respected institutions in the developing world. These fellowships are hosted in Brazil, China, India, Malaysia, Mexico and Pakistan. New fellowships are now available with South Africa's National Research Foundation (NRF). As of 2017, the following PhD fellowship programmes will be going online and to apply, candidates will need to submit a new online application form: CSIR, India; CIIT, Pakistan; DBT, India and ICCBS, Pakistan. Applications for these fellowship programmes will ONLY be accepted via the online portal. These fellowships will open one at a time and not simultaneously as in the past!
